Arizona Deep Chemical Peels

Deep chemical peels utilize a substance called Phenol, which soaks down into the deepest layers of the skin. A deep chemical peel can take care of intense pigment issues, severe wrinkles and even scarring. It takes about an hour to complete, and skin may be red for a day up to a week afterward. However, there is very little pain involved in the procedure.

There are also medium chemical peels for less severe conditions. The medium peel uses trichloroascetic acid and is frequently used for eliminating freckles and light age spots. Fine lines that are just starting to form can also be minimized or erased using this method.

Light chemical peels use non-buffered trichloroacetic acid and just affect the outer layers of the skin. They can be used to correct acne and the beginnings of sun damage on young faces. As in all chemical facial treatments, there is usually some tingling and perhaps a minor burning sensation as the chemicals do their work. However, there is no real pain, and the redness which occurs during the days immediately following the procedure can be covered up with makeup.
