Arizona Photofacial TreatmentsPhotofacial treatments are used for the reduction of spider veins and the elimination of areas of dark pigmentation, such as patches of rosacea. Using beams of intense pulsed light (IPL), photofacial treatments use hand-held devices to direct this light onto problem areas for skin rejuvenation. The IPL beams heat up blood vessels in spider veins, causing them to shrink and thus reducing the overall appearance of the spider veins. For rosacea, freckles, age spots and other problem pigments, the IPL heats up the underlying collagen of the skin, causing pigments to lighten. Most sessions last anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated and the extensiveness of the problem being treated. Clients sit in a comfortable chair with their eyes closed, relaxing while the photofacial is administered. There is no pain associated with a photofacial, and side effects are rare. The IPL penetrates deep below the skin, leaving upper layers intact, so most outside observers aren't aware that any procedure was performed. After three to four treatments, the problem is usually permanently resolved, and skin is left looking rejuvenated and younger. Photofacial Treatments for Skin RenewalPhotofacials are given by trained, licensed clinical aestheticians or dermatologists in sterile environments. There is no down time following this procedure: It can be done on a lunch break, and the recipient can go right back to work afterward. In the greater Chicago area, NuU Medspa offers this procedure in seven different locations. There are also five locations in Arizona, including Scottsdale. |
