A Little about Some Popular Hair Removal Devices

The Aesthera PPx is an IPL-based machine that uses broadband light to eliminate unwanted hair. The device can also be used to eliminate unwanted pigmentation, such as age spots. It's also used to reduce the appearance of prominent veins, either on the face or elsewhere on the body.

The Cynosure Elite is equipped with both alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers. The alexandrite laser works best on fairer skinned patients, while the Nd:YAG is best for those with darker coloring. Both lasers are used for hair removal and for removing or reducing age spots and veins.

The Soprano by Alma uses a pulsed diode beam (810nm). The pulsed diode laser produces the wavelength between the alexandrite and the Nd:YAG. This makes it a good, middle-ground option for those with tanned skin.
